We want to introduce you to Brad!

He began his life coaching business after starting his journey of religious deconstruction, a process in which a person leaves a religion for any number of reasons in an effort to find clarity, freedom, and/or truth. Brad knew he could be a resource to others in a similar place, and so the foundations of his business began to take shape.

He knew social media would be the best place to start, so he outlined three main social media goals:

INCREASE BRAND AWARENESS. He was starting from the very bottom, and anyone that owns a business knows that’s a hard place to begin. He wanted people to start recognizing his brand, what he stood for, and the ways he can help them.

INCREASE FOLLOWER COUNT. His Instagram account was a personal, private account so discoverability was severely limited. He told us his goal was to reach 1000 followers by the end of 2021.

GENERATE WEBSITE CLICKS. His website was going to be the main point where people learned about his services, read his blog posts, and contacted him for more information. As a business owner, he knew a website would be crucial to his success.

Brad was starting from scratch when he came to us.

His business didn’t have a website, a logo or branding, he hadn’t quite settled on a name at that point yet either! There was a long way to go to make sure Brad had everything he needed to make sure his business was ready to officially launch, which is why he looked to GoldBear Media for help!

Step one: Branding

When we began to think about Coaching with Brad, we took a step back and thought about the face of the brand itself: Brad. He is someone who loves connecting with people, is fun and easygoing, and has a passion for the work he does. We wanted to make sure his brand image reflected that!

With the branding ready to go, we got to work on the website. This would be the main call to action on social media, so we made sure each page was detailed, but still an easy and engaging read.

Next it was time to tackle social media. We established three content pillars to help with content planning and establish consistency on his pages:

Personal: Posts that give an inside look into the life of Brad and who he is. Calls to action are designed to boost post engagement.

Support: Posts that offer encouragement, advice, or other forms of support. Calls to action are designed to build personal connections.

Services: Posts that share about the services Brad offers and how one can work with him. Calls to action direct to the website and increasing bookings.

Brad was pretty unfamiliar with the ins and outs of social media, so we gave him a few tools to help him learn and grow his page in addition to our work. We designed him easy-to-use, branded social media templates to create his own content. We also told him about the 10/10/10 Strategy.

We know this is different depending on who you talk to, so here is a quick breakdown of how we do it at GoldBear:

This is a strategy we have used on our own social media and have seen success through it, and knew Brad would be able to keep up with this strategy consistently. With all the pieces in place, it was time to get to work.

1,000+ page views in the first month

When his website launched, we were surprised to see that he had over 1,000 page views within the first month! Since then, he has had steady traffic with most people reading either his story or his blog page. A majority of visitors access his page with a direct URL and about 75% viewing from a mobile device.

1,000+ Instagram followers in four months

One of the things that has been crazy to see is the growth of his social media page. In July of 2021, Brad started with a private Instagram account with 135 followers. There wasn’t a consistency with branding, tone of voice, or social media strategy. As of November 2021, Brad has over 1,000 followers!

20,000+ accounts reached monthly

On a monthly basis, he reaches nearly 20,000 accounts, has over 2,000 content interactions on his posts, and has started connecting with other major voices in the religious deconstruction community and beginning to make himself a recognized name.


He is seeing his coaching business grow and take shape as Brad is able to help people in all the ways he wanted and more.
